DROWNED KUROS

..a beautiful polished bronze statue of a young god stood in the harbor temple for more than three centuries, surviving endless wars, only to meet its bitter end during the Christianization of the late Roman world. Its head was torn from the body and sank to the bottom of the sea, where it remained for nearly sixteen centuries until it was discovered after a particularly violent storm in the 1980s.Cleaned and meticulously restored, it now occupies a special safe in a private collection in Berlin..this is what I imagined while creating this piece.

This ceramic mask is the remaining shell of an original clay portrait.

Its hand-applied acrylic patina imitates weathered ancient bronze, evoking the feeling of an archaeological discovery: a face recovered from the earth or lifted from the seabed after centuries beneath the waves.

Every detail originates from my own hand-sculpted portrait. No molds were used, and this piece exists in a single copy only.

A fictional relic for those who are drawn to archaeology.

Original ceramic art object, ready to hang on the wall.
One of a kind, signed and named.

Width: 20 cm, Depth: 10 cm, Height: 25 cm
