TRITON DRINKING HORN

“THE DARKNESS” is a “crying” ceramic fountain. It was exhibited as a part of Ortung 13 Biennale “In the sign of gold” in Schwabach.

The figure itself is charred, coal-like, both human and a tree. A small fountain, glinting with gold, releases droplets of water onto its chest. Archaeologists believe that gold was the earliest metal used by humans, often associated with divinity. The golden ratio, divine rays, and saint's nimbs all relate to this precious metal.

This black, petrified trunk is made of simple matter, just like us. How does inanimate matter turn into living things? Perhaps, what stands behind the mysterious power of life, which is greater than the sum of its parts, is just a spark in darkness.

Unglazed black ceramic dripping fountain, 10K gold.

This is a unique hand-built sculpture, and comes with a certificate of authenticity.
